A handful of Hull KR and Hull FC fans clashed on the pitch following the latter's 30-20 engage Super League win on July 8.
As a result, the Robins have been fined £7,500 and ordered to pay the costs of the case. £5,000 of the fine has been suspended for a year.
Hull FC were found not guilty.
An RFL statement read: "At this evening's (Monday) RFL Operational Rules Tribunal, Hull Kingston Rovers have been found guilty of failing to use best endeavours to ensure supporters do not act unlawfully and do not invade the pitch."
News of the fine comes on the day the 2008 fixtures revealed the clubs will again meet four times next season. They will go head-to-head at the Millennium Magic event on May 4, with games at Craven Park on March 21 and September 7.
They will also meet at the KC Stadium on July 20.
Reacting to the decision, Rovers chairman Neil Hudgell said: "We respect the RFL's decision and we will move on from it.
"We are moving on to bigger and better things and we are looking forward to the 2008 season. We are putting this incident firmly behind us as we approach what we expect to be a very exciting year in our history."
