The 29-year-old St George Illawarra forward has agreed a three-year contract with the Perpignan club and will be a direct replacement for ex-New Zealand front rower Alex Chan, who has announced his decision to retire at the end of the season.

Chan, 33, formerly with Melbourne Storm, played in the Dragons' first-ever fixture against Wigan in February 2006 and will make his 77th appearance for the club against Warrington on Saturday at the Gilbert Brutus Stadium.

"Following Alex Chan's decision to leave at the end of the season, we were looking for a big strong front rower and Jason soon became our priority," said Catalans general manager Christophe Levy.

"His experience at the highest level will be beneficial to all the team."
