Same again for England

England have kept faith with their winning line-up from New Zealand and picked an unchanged side for the opening Test against the Kiwis at Lord's on Thursday.

Having named a 12-man squad for the start of the three-Test npower series, England decided to leave out recalled Yorkshire seamer Matthew Hoggard from their starting line-up.

It means they enter Thursday's match with an attack led by player of the year Ryan Sidebottom and backed up by Nottinghamshire seamer Stuart Broad and Lancashire's Jimmy Anderson, with Monty Panesar providing the spin option.

Durham all-rounder Paul Collingwood has passed himself fit following a third injection into his troublesome right shoulder and will help in the attack.

"It is going to be the same team that won our last Test in Napier," said captain Michael Vaughan. "Hopefully it will be a similar performance and a similar result."

"It is a more settled side than it was a few months ago," said Vaughan.

"New players have come into the side and done well, but there's also competition for places so players within the squad know they have to produce good performances because there are a number of good players out there who would like to get into this 11.

"The more consistent cricket we play and the more victories we can achieve will produce more consistent selection.

"We all know what's out there for us but we just want to try to continue where we left off in New Zealand.
