Sanchez was sacked by Fulham in December but his contract has yet to be paid off, prompting him to tread a path he brands "demeaning" for all involved.

"People think that when you've been sacked you're paid off and that everything is all right," he told BBC Radio Five Live's Sportsweek. "But it doesn't work like that. One day a club sacks you and then they say 'take us to court and sue us, see if you can get the money'."

He added: "They know that after a certain amount of time managers who don't have so many resources will have to give in and settle for a figure that is nowhere near what the contract is worth.

"I've not been paid a penny since I've left Fulham. My healthcare has been cut off and I've had to drag the club into the managers' arbitration tribunal.

"That's demeaning for me and should be demeaning for the club. Clubs wouldn't dream of cutting a player's contract short and wouldn't do it to an agent either.

"But it's part and parcel of life for managers, especially in the lower leagues."

Fulham climbed out of the relegation zone for the first time since Boxing Day with Saturday's 2-0 victory over Birmingham and Sanchez, who was axed on December 21 and replaced by Roy Hodgson, remains bitter at his treatment by the Cottagers.

"I managed Fulham for 17 games but having spent another £10million and with Brian McBride and Jimmy Bullard back in the team they have one point more than I secured in fewer games," he said.

"Roy Hodgson yesterday said it's taken four months to know what his team was. Well I was only charge for four months and it's my team that's playing now."
