School's out for Toshack

John Toshack has outlined the enormity of his Wales revolution by claiming the bulk of his current side were still at school when he took over as national manager almost five years ago.

The Wales boss will again send out a youthful side against Montenegro on Wednesday and there are 11 players in his squad who were still schoolboys when he took over as national manager in November 2004.

And Toshack aims to build on the outstanding victory his youngsters achieved in Azerbaijan in June, saying: "When I started six years ago, half of the side playing against Montenegro were still at school. And some only just out of primary school. Just kids. And for them to win a World Cup tie like that in June will give them great confidence, and shows how far we have come."

He added: "Look at where these lads were when we started this job with Wales. Still in short trousers, still at school.

"Brian Flynn (under-21 coach) has done a fantastic job, terrific.

"But I accept that the time is here for us to start producing now, we all want that."
