Scolari backs Terry for England role

Luiz Felipe Scolari has called on Fabio Capello to name John Terry as England captain.

The Chelsea defender is the main candidate along with Rio Ferdinand to be appointed as skipper for the World Cup qualifiers starting on September 6 against Andorra.

However, Chelsea boss Scolari called on the Italian to stick with Terry and told The Sun: "I say to my friend Capello: 'Terry is a good choice, a very good choice'."

He added: "Terry is a proper captain.

"He is a man that when you say something to him he will help you achieve it."
