Sculthorpe sticks with Saints

The Saints loose forward and captain, who celebrated his 30th birthday last Saturday, has agreed a new 12-month deal, ending speculation he could be on his way out of Knowsley Road.
A succession of knee and Achilles injuries to the twice former Man of Steel cast some doubt over his glittering career and he recently announced his retirement from international rugby - but Sculthorpe is due back for the start of the 2008 season and said: "I'm delighted to sign a new contract with St Helens."
He added: "It will be my 10th season in 2008 at the club and I'm determined to play my part in the club's continued success. My rehabilitation is going very well and I know I will come back next season stronger than ever.
"My recent injuries have been a very frustrating time for me and I'm grateful to everyone at St Helens for all the support they have shown.
"I want to repay that faith and also thank the fans who have played such a key role during my nine years at the club.
"It's the support of the fans that helps to keep you going and I wanted to stay at the club that is so close to my heart.
"I've developed as a rugby league player at St Helens and experienced so many highs, both personally and as a team, in the game and I want to keep that going and keep the trophies coming to the club.
"The future of the club is so good with the abundance of young excellent players in our squad and a new stadium hopefully on the horizon."
