UEFA are probing the scenes at the first leg in Rome when police, in the words of Rome's Prefect of Police Achille Serra, "had to go in hard" to quell trouble between the two sets of supporters.

Rosella Sensi, who has day to day control of the club owned by her ageing father and club president Franco Sensi, told reporters at the Eternal City's Fiumicino Airport: "It's right to call for calm. But our fans know how to behave whether they are in Italy or abroad."

Referring to the game, Sensi said: "It's a very important game for Roma but we are approaching it calmly."
