Shoulder scan for Collingwood

Paul Collingwood has given England an unexpected injury scare as they attempt to complete a maiden one-day international series victory in Sri Lanka.

The skipper injured his right shoulder during the opening match of the series when he missed an attempted return catch off fellow captain Mahela Jayawardene as Sri Lanka triumphed by 119 runs.

He shrugged off the injury to help England win the next two matches in Dambulla - but now they have returned to Colombo and are closer to major hospitals, Collingwood has gone for a precautionary scan to determine whether he has suffered a troublesome injury.

England are expecting the results of the scan on Tuesday but do not anticipate bad news.
