Sidebottom stars for England

Pietersen (226) completed his maiden Test double-hundred to help England pile up 570 for seven declared - before the home seamers hunted as a pack at Headingley to rush through the Windies' first innings in only 37 overs.
The hosts duly enforced the follow-on and had their opponents 22 for two at stumps, thanks to Sidebottom who got Daren Ganga lbw for the second time in the day - and Daren Powell with the last ball of the day to take his tally to six wickets in all.
The nine wickets required to see off the Windies first time around - captain Ramnaresh Sarwan was unable to bat because of a shoulder injury - were shared by Sidebottom (four for 42), Liam Plunkett (three for 35) and Steve Harmison on day two of this second Test in a four-match series. Sidebottom made the first incisions, bagging Chris Gayle and Ganga as his first two Test wickets.
It was after tea, though, that the Windies hit real trouble as the ball began to move off the pitch and in the air under increasingly cloudy skies for previously errant Durham pair Harmison and Plunkett - and a collapse of three wickets for 14 runs in 18 balls ripped through the middle order.
Pietersen had been the driving force which put England on course for such a strong position, batting for more than seven hours and sharing a sixth-wicket stand of 160 with Matthew Prior (75) to set up the mid-afternoon declaration.
