Smith cock-a-hoop as Rhinos charge

Victorious coach Tony Smith pinpointed the contributions of Rob Burrow and Kevin Sinfield as Leeds clinched a 22-10 victory over St Helens to move level with their hosts at the engage Super League summit.

It was the 5ft 5ins Burrow's 200th league game for the Rhinos and Smith, whose side outscored Saints by four tries to two, said: "For Rob Burrow to reach 200 games shows how resilient he is and how durable he is for his size.

"You'd expect a little guy to miss games but he's never injured and nearly always plays the full 80 minutes every week. Rob's try was nice but then all tries against St Helens are nice."

He added: "I thought his and Kevin Sinfield's kicking games were outstanding and that was key for us."

Along with Bradford and Wigan, St Helens have been charged with breaching the competition's salary cap.

Saints' hearing is on Thursday and if found guilty, they could face a fine and/or a deduction of four, eight or 12 points.

It is a worrying prospect for the defending champions, and now their fortunes on the field suddenly look a lot less bright.
