Sparta announce Bouaouzan deal

Sparta Rotterdam have confirmed they have reached an agreement with Wigan over the transfer of striker Rachid Bouaouzan to the JJB Stadium.

The 23-year-old had earlier revealed he had agreed personal terms with the English Premier League club.

And in a statement on www.sparta-rotterdam.nl said: "Rachid Bouaouzan will swap Sparta Rotterdam for Wigan Athletic directly."

Bouaouzan is eager to quit Sparta and earlier on Thursday had admitted he was hopeful a deal could be completed before Friday's transfer deadline.

He told De Telegraaf newspaper: "I have already agreed personal terms with the club (Wigan).

"But we have to wait for Sparta to turn all the lights to green. And that will happen when the two clubs agree on the transfer fee."

Bouaouzan has not played in Sparta's opening two games of the Eredivisie season after falling out with new coach Gert Aandewiel.

He has made 58 top flight appearances for Sparta, scoring three goals.
