Strauss misses out

Andrew Strauss failed to make an impact on his return to one-day international cricket as England lost three wickets before the midway point of their innings against West Indies.

The England captain, making his first one-day appearance since the Caribbean World Cup two years ago, fell for a disappointing 15 in the opener to the five-match one-day series, while former captain Kevin Pietersen was dismissed for 17 and Ravi Bopara for 43.

Owais Shah and Paul Collingwood then combined in a productive 73-run stand spanning 13 overs when heavy rain struck the Providence Stadium forcing the players to leave the field with England on 190 for three after 37 overs.
