Substitute role for Tindall

Mike Tindall has been named on the bench for Gloucester's Heineken Cup quarter-final clash against Munster at Kingsholm on Saturday.

England centre Tindall has not played since suffering serious injuries during the RBS 6 Nations loss to Wales on February 2.

He sustained a torn liver, punctured lung and suffered internal bleeding after taking an accidental kick from an opponent, spending three days in the intensive care unit of a London hospital as a result.

But Tindall is now likely to begin his comeback on Saturday as Gloucester target a semi-final place for the first time since 2001.

James Simpson-Daniel continues at outside centre, with Scotland international Chris Paterson replacing a concussed Iain Balshaw on the right wing.

Up front, Andy Hazell wins a place in the back row, but his fellow flankers Alasdair Strokosch and Akapusi Qera, who is injured, both miss out on the matchday 22.

Gloucester head coach Dean Ryan said: "We didn't want to take a risk with Mike for the sake of one game, and we left the decision pretty much to him.

"Needless to say, to have a player of his experience and understanding available for a game of this magnitude is huge for us.

"He has done everything that he needs to do - he will bring a level of expertise that are key in these games."
