Sussex move quickly for Smith

Sussex have signed West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Smith for their Twenty20 Cup campaign following an injury to Mushtaq Ahmed.

Leg-spinner Mushtaq has been ruled out for the duration of the Twenty20 group programme after tearing a knee ligament in training.

Sussex professional cricket manager Mark Robinson said: "Obviously we are excited to have Dwain join us. We've had to move quickly on this following the injury to 'Mushy', and at a day's notice I feel very lucky to have gained such a high-quality player."

Smith, who has played 10 Tests and 71 one-day internationals, joins the club following a stint in the Indian Premier League with Mumbai Indians.
