Sven arrives to finalise City job
04 January 2007
The Swede has been waiting for Thaksin Shinawatra's takeover of the club to go through before being formally announced as Stuart Pearce's replacement at Eastlands on a three-year contract.
That development looked even more likely when Eriksson touched down at Manchester Airport and admitted he hoped there would be further developments imminently, and he said: "We will see. I would prefer to speak on Wednesday."
Asked if he will be meeting representatives from City, Eriksson added: "I think so. If you wait, you will know everything."
With pre-season training starting on Wednesday, Eriksson is expected to meet the players before being formally unveiled as the club's new manager this week.
It appears City can finally contemplate looking forward to next season after a summer of uncertainty, which has seen key players Joey Barton and Sylvain Distin leave the club.
