Taylor keen to see Bruce successor sorted

Bruce will sign a four-year contract with Wigan after deciding to walk away from St Andrews having failed to gain the required guarantees over his future from prospective new owner Carson Yeung - and, with the future of Bruce's assistant Eric Black still unclear, Taylor says the confusion is affecting his team.
Taylor said: "As much as you want to try to focus on the playing side, it is hard not to be aware of what is going on. It has been unsettling but we are pros, we have to get our heads down."
He added: "It is not ideal situation. If someone can come in, the quicker we can get down to the aim of staying in the Premier League. The quicker it is resolved, one way or the other, the better."
Taylor says Bruce will be "a hard act to follow", and his praise is matched by Wigan chairman Dave Whelan, who appointed Bruce for a brief six-game period at the end of the 2000/1 season.
Whelan saw enough to switch his sights to Bruce as soon as former boss Paul Jewell rejected an approach to return to his old club following the dismissal of Chris Hutchings earlier this month.
Whelan confirmed he will pay £3million compensation to the Blues and told Sky Sports News: "I'm delighted we've got him. I think he's a big loss for Birmingham and a big signing for Wigan Athletic.
"He'll be a fantastic signing for Wigan Athletic. He's one of the best young managers in the land, I'm delighted we've got him and he'll bring enthusiasm, knowledge and spirit to our team."
