Terry nervous over captaincy

Chelsea's John Terry admits he has faced an anxious wait to discover who England coach Fabio Capello will name as his next captain.

The centre-back was unavailable for the Italian's first match in charge against Switzerland last month, leaving Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard with the honour. But Capello has already stated he wants to try out a few candidates before making a final decision.

"I want to keep the armband and keep captaining my country," Terry told the Daily Mirror. "I'm very nervous about Mr Capello's decision but I will respect whatever it is."

Terry, who was initially given the armband by previous England boss Steve McClaren, is in the squad for Wednesday's friendly against France.
