Thackray joins Hull

Hull have confirmed the re-signing of former Great Britain prop Jamie Thackray following his release by Leeds.

The 28-year-old front-rower, a member of Hull's 2005 Challenge Cup-winning team, has rejoined the club until the end of the season.

Chief executive James Rule said: "With our current injury problems, we felt this was an opportunity not to be missed. Jamie will strengthen our squad - and as we all know from his time at the club, he can provide a real explosive impact to games."

Hull recently signed Frenchman Adel Fellous on a month's loan from Toulouse to provide front-row cover in the absence through injury of Garreth Carvell and Ewan Dowes.

They are also without prop Peter Cusack for the game against Catalans Dragons in Perpignan - because his wife is expecting a baby over the weekend - but long-serving front-rower Paul King is available after he avoided suspension for a high tackle in the Good Friday derby at Craven Park.

"It's great having Kingy with us because we were in serious danger of facing Catalans with only one prop, Scott Wheeldon," said coach Peter Sharp.

"I'm delighted he has got off, and the signing of Jamie Thackray is another real bonus. Jamie is a good player, he provides impact.

"Having Kingy and Thacks in the squad for the weekend is a real boost."
