Tigers snap up Sherwin

Super League new-boys Castleford have agreed a three-year deal with Australia scrum-half Brent Sherwin.

The 29-year-old, who will be the Tigers' replacement for Danny Brough, accepted their offer after Canterbury Bulldogs agreed to release him from the 12 months left on his contract.

"This was a big decision for me to make as the Bulldogs have been my life," said Sherwin. "But I have to look to the future and the offer from Castleford allows me to continue playing football for three more years."

Sherwin becomes the fifth recruit for Castleford, who have snapped up Luke Dorn, Michael Korkidas and Mark Edmondson from relegated Salford and have taken Scott Moore on a season-long loan from St Helens.
