Torres: English football trumps Spanish

The 23-year-old joined the Reds this summer in a £20million-plus transfer from Atletico Madrid, and has scored 12 goals in 20 appearances.
Asked to compare his new surroundings with the Spanish game, he told www.liverpoolfc.tv: "I would say football in England is better. It is more attractive than football in Spain, I would say, and certainly faster."
He added: "It's more physical. The progress of the game is slower and there are a lot more fouls in Spain. The football here is more dynamic and it is more fun for the team and the individuals."
Torres has certainly been scoring for fun and appears to have adapted quickly to the pace of the Premier League, something he puts down to all the support he has received from his team-mates, on and off the pitch.
"Strikers only really score goals because of the efforts of their team-mates," the Spain forward added.
"So far, I've been scoring pretty much a goal a game and I feel very lucky and happy with that. It's in a large way down to the very good team-mates I have. At Liverpool, we always play with a high tempo and with a good rhythm, so that helps."
Torres insists his English is coming along but admits he still needs the help of his Spanish-speaking colleagues.
"I had to get Pepe Reina round because the house alarm was going off all the time. He came round to speak to the technician because I couldn't understand a word he was saying," said Torres.
