Trulli feeling confident

Jarno Trulli heads into the new Formula One season "full of hope", fuelled by the belief this year's Toyota is the best he has ever driven.

Standing on the brink of his fifth season with Toyota, Trulli has never felt so optimistic with regard to the team's chances. The veteran Italian and team-mate Timo Glock have consistently been at or near the top of the timesheets in testing during the past two months.

"I am confident for this season because so far testing has gone very well," Trulli told Formula One's official website. "I believe the car is going to be very competitive, and so far everything is looking good."

He added: "This car feels better than any other Toyota I have driven in pre-season, so I am full of hope we can achieve great things this year. We are definitely optimistic.

"We try to improve our performance year by year, and I believe we are established as a good team which has improved a lot.

"After the strong results of last year, our goal is to fight for the top positions this year and my dream is to give Toyota their first win."

With Toyota forced to slash their budget this year to compete in F1, the pressure would appear to be on Trulli and Glock to deliver the results needed for the team's survival.

"That's not for me to comment on, but it is obvious Toyota is in F1 to win," added Trulli.

"I believe the team have enough experience, the right people and everything, so we want to deliver.

"For me and Timo it will be an important season because both of us want to win as much as each other, and we want to deliver the results. We are all working together in the same direction, and I am optimistic we can have a strong season."
