Trump towers in Sheffield

Judd Trump beat Mark Joyce 6-1 to win the first professional title of his career and qualify for the prestigious Masters tournament.

The 19-year-old racked up breaks of 138, 81 and 88 on his way to beating Joyce at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield to win the Masters qualifying tournament.

Speaking after beating Joyce, who had beat Barry Hawkins and Matthew Stevens to reach the final, Trump told www.worldsnooker.com: "I've never been to Wembley, even to watch a match, so it will be a great experience for me."

He added: "I've watched the Masters on TV since I was young, I remember watching Jimmy White and a few others, so I can't wait to play there myself."

The Bristol youngster will now compete with the world's top 16 in the event, which will take place at Wembley Arena in January.
