Tugay pens new Rovers deal

Blackburn midfielder Tugay has signed a new one-year contract at Ewood Park.

The Turkish international has been at the club for six years since former Rovers manager Graeme Souness signed him from Rangers in 2001 for £1.3million.

The 36-year-old retired from international football in 2003 when Turkey failed to reach the following year's European Championships, but returned to the fold this season.

Tugay has been a key figure for Mark Hughes' side this season and has scored twice, against Basle in the UEFA Cup and Tottenham in the Premier League in November.
