UEFA look into cup tie
04 January 2008
Supporters invaded the pitch at the end of the sides' UEFA Cup clash on February 13 and there also appeared to be missiles thrown from the crowd - the most worrying example of which saw a snooker ball reportedly hurled in the direction of Toffees goalkeeper Tim Howard.
A statement on UEFA's official website, www.uefa.com, read: "Evidence referring to pitch invasions by spectators and the throwing of missiles has been submitted to the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body, which will decide on the matter at its next meeting on Thursday 20 March".
Everton progressed from the two-legged tie after winning the match in question 2-0 and hammering their opponents 6-1 at Goodison Park to make the last 16.
