Reigning world champion Raikkonen, who leads the current standings by three points from Nick Heidfeld, had topped the timesheets at the end of both of Friday's 90-minute periods.
But in Saturday's hour-long session, with the teams again on various fuel strategies, Raikkonen was some way down the field as Heidfeld took the honours with the fourth best time posted overall from the two days.
The BMW Sauber driver knocked David Coulthard off top spot late on with a lap of one minute 21.269secs at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya after switching to the softer tyres.
Red Bull Racing's Coulthard was just under 0.2secs adrift, with home favourite Fernando Alonso bringing his fans to their feet in the dying moments with a lap of 1:21.599 for third in his Renault.
The second BMW Sauber of Robert Kubica was fourth, with his team clearly running on low fuel and so close to their true qualifying pace.
The unusual order at the top saw Toyota's Jarno Trulli in fifth, followed by the Toro Rosso of Sebastien Bourdais, Nelson Piquet in his Renault, with Jenson Button eighth for Honda.
Felipe Massa was ninth for Ferrari, with Lewis Hamilton again 11th in his McLaren, as he was yesterday at the end of second practice.
Super Aguri, whose future is likely to be resolved at a meeting on Wednesday with engine suppliers Honda, were at least not at the rear of the field.
With Takuma Sato 20th and Anthony Davidson 21st, that unfortunate honour belonged to Mark Webber in the second Red Bull. The Australian managed just two installation laps, so failing to record a time due to a throttle issue that led to his car coming to a halt at the end of the pitlane.
