Vaughan on verge of retirement

The 34-year-old's future has been the subject of speculation since he was left out of England's 16-man Ashes training squad last week.
Reports this morning claimed an announcement was imminent and conjecture increased after the player was left out of Yorkshire's side to face Derbyshire in the Twenty20 Cup today.
With the county hoping to secure a place in the top division of next season's P20 competition, Yorkshire wanted to remove any off-field distractions.
Vaughan was still at Headingley Carnegie for the game but was unwilling to speak to the media to confirm or deny the reports.
The situation is not straightforward as Vaughan is centrally contracted by the England and Wales Cricket Board until the end of the summer.
That matter, however, is likely to be cleared up in the coming days with confirmation of Vaughan's retirement coming from the ECB.
The news would end an 82-match Test career in which Vaughan has scored 5,719 runs and 18 centuries.
Yet he has been unable to regain a place in the England team since stepping down as captain in a tearful press conference last summer.
He had hoped to continue as a batsman but did not feature on the winter tours to India and the West Indies and his county form this season has been below par.
