Veloso in United's sights

The 21-year-old is being tipped to become the third Sporting player to join United in recent times, following in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani.
Queiroz refused to say whether manager Sir Alex Ferguson was ready to launch a bid, saying: "Miguel Veloso has been looked at already. We have looked at a lot of players, like Joao Moutinho. Do we like them? Yes, of course. However we cannot work with 200 players."
Ahead of Tuesday night's Champions League clash between the clubs at Old Trafford, Sporting coach Paulo Bento appeared on the verge of walking out of his pre-match press conference when repeatedly quizzed about Veloso's future.
One player apparently not on United's radar but willing to leave Portugal for the Premier League anyway is Argentina-born playmaker Leandro Romagnoli.
The 26-year-old is a key figure in a Sporting side that needs a win to maintain any hope of reaching the knock-out phase.
But, while not actively seeking a move away from the Lions, he admits the lure of life in England is big.
"If an English club was interested and a move works for both myself and Sporting then I would listen to offers," he said.
"For me, the Premier League is the best championship in the world.
"The top players are there and it is more competitive than La Liga, where Real Madrid and Barcelona are the main clubs."
