Walker leaves Bolton

Bolton goalkeeper Ian Walker has left the club after agreeing a deal to cancel his contract.

The 37-year-old made just eight appearances - although none in the Premier League - having signed on a free transfer from Leicester in 2005.

"It was a case of sitting down with Ian and doing what was right for Bolton and most importantly for Ian," said manager Gary Megson.

"The emergence of Ali Al Habsi was terrific last season so we have come to an agreement with Ian over his contract and we wish him well."

Walker has been linked with a move to Major League Soccer in America.
