Williams stars for Wales

Shane Williams scored two tries as Wales maintained their winning start to the RBS 6 Nations with a deserved 30-15 triumph over Scotland.

The winger's first was all Wales had to show for a dominant first half in Cardiff, and the flawless kicking of Chris Paterson kept Scotland in the game even after James Hook had breached some sloppy defending to cross.

But Williams scored a superb solo try in the 68th minute, squeezing the ball in at the corner to move Wales clear.

Williams' toe appeared to be in touch, but the try was given by television official Carlo Damasco.

Scotland, beaten by France at home last week, had remained on Wales' coattails thanks to the dead-eye boot of Paterson, who landed five penalties to overtake Gavin Hastings as the leading Scottish points scorer in Five/Six Nations history.

But it was not enough against a Wales side who ultimately had too much creativity.

Fly-half Hook, who starred for his country against England at Twickenham last week, contributed a personal haul of 12 points.
