The 34-year-old ripped through the Steelbacks top order, finishing with figures of four for 29, as Somerset comfortably defended a competitive 163 at Wantage Road.
Compatriot Zander de Bruyn did the damage with the bat for the Sabres smashing 83 off 64 balls - with just three wickets falling.
Australian veteran Ian Harvey hit a quickfire 30 - but once he was dismissed Northamptonshire fell apart, slumping to 133 for nine and ending 30 runs short.
It was the first Midlands/Wales/West Division defeat of the season for the Steelbacks, who now sit just two points above the Sabres with 10 points from six games.
Worcestershire sealed their fourth victory with a 29-run win over Glamorgan at the Swalec Stadium.
The visitors were indebted to batting contributions from captain Vikram Solanki, Stephen Moore, Moeen Ali and Ashley Noffke as they reached 164 for six.
Glamorgan, who have now lost five out of their six group matches, were always struggling after losing three wickets for one run early on - and were eventually dismissed for 135.
Warwickshire kept themselves in the qualification race with a four-wicket win over Gloucestershire at Edgbaston.
The hosts restricted Gloucestershire to 135 for seven and reached their target with six balls to spare - Ian Westwood top-scoring with an unbeaten 44. A fifth defeat in six games leaves Gloucestershire virtually out of the running.
