The WICB sent WIPA a document entitled 'WICB Considerations for Future Relationship with Players', which they hoped would end the current impasse over players' salaries and the infrastructure in domestic cricket.

But WIPA have rejected their proposals and have called for further talks to prevent the possiblity of strike action being taken, which would disrupt Friday's one-day series decider against England at the Beausejour Stadium.

A WIPA statement labelled the document a "position paper" and said "while outlining a number of broad suggestions, (it) omits so much substantial and significant information and detail that any meaningful engagement on that basis alone is impossible.

"It is hoped that negotiations may be continued and resolution of the outstanding issues which are obviously not covered by this position paper achieved without further delay."
