Wolves pounce for Carvell and Higham

The Wolves, who have also confirmed the signing of Wigan hooker Mickey Higham on a two-year deal, are thought to have paid Hull around £55,000 for the 28-year-old Carvell, who had been on St Helens' wanted list.
Carvell, who joined Hull from Leeds eight years ago, signed a new three-year contract less than three months ago but changed his mind 24 hours later and asked for a release. That enabled Hull to demand a transfer fee.
"I'm coming to the club to win things," said Carvell, who is a member of England's World Cup train-on squad.
"The Wolves have a lot of good players and I feel it's the right move at the right time for me.
"I like a challenge and I'm going to get one here. There's lots of competition for places and that's only good for the team.
"Playing with the likes of Morley, Rauhihi and Wood in the front row is only going to improve my game."
Higham, 28, will join Warrington as a free agent when his season with Super League play-off title challengers Wigan comes to an end.
The former St Helens hooker was told his contract with the Warriors would not be renewed and he had been linked with Super League new boys Salford.
"There was a couple of clubs that came in for me but I feel this club is really going places," he said. "Obviously my commitment is still fully with Wigan until the end of the season. Next year it goes without saying that this squad, when fully fit, are going to be a force, a potential top-three side."
