Woods makes Masters move

Resuming five strokes behind leaders Tim Clark and Brett Wetterich, the world number one's bid for a 13th major and third in a row - also his fifth green jacket - was ignited by birdies at the third and eighth holes as most others struggled again.
Up to one over par as a result, Woods was up from joint 15th to eighth only three away from new pacesetter Stuart Appleby, the Australian taking over at the top with a hat-trick of birdies from the second while Clark bogeyed the first and Wetterich the long second.
With Clark taking six there as well Woods was only one shot off third place.
Playing with Woods for the third day running, Paul Casey was going well too.
Having improved 11 shots on his opening 79 in the second round Casey covered the front nine in a one under 35 to be two over along with Justin Rose, Padraig Harrington and Bradley Dredge, while David Howell sat alongside Woods.
Rose was the joint first round leader with a 69 and even with his Friday 75 led the European challenge going into the weekend at level par.
However, his first shot was a hook deep into the trees and after bogeying the difficult first he much more disappointingly ran up a six on the 575-yard second.
Sadly, it brought back memories of his third round 81 when the halfway leader on his last visit three years ago.
