Wright to miss rest of series

Wright was hit on the big toe of his left foot while facing the bowling machine at the National Cricket Performance centre of Monday, and was left needing stitches.
A late fitness test ruled him out of the side that slumped to a fifth consecutive NatWest series defeat at Trent Bridge on Tuesday and he will now miss Thursday's day-night contest in Nottingham and the seventh clash in Durham.
His fitness will be assessed next week with regard to his participation in the Champions Trophy.
Hampshire captain Dimitri Mascarenhas was summoned to link up with the side on Monday night and will remain with the squad after impressing on Tuesday.
Wright is a key part of England's limited-overs strategy, with his fast-improving seamers and late-order hitting critical to the balance of the side.
But Mascarenhas, Chiswick born and raised in Perth, filled in admirably in the four-wicket defeat, bowling a tidy 10-over spell and scoring 19 in 13 balls at the end of the England innings.
The 31-year-old would now be in pole position to replace Wright should he be ruled out of the Champions Trophy.
The tournament gets under way on September 22, with England's opening fixture against Sri Lanka taking place three days later.
Should England opt for a batting specialist to replace Wright, surely something to consider given the poor displays against Australia in the first four matches of the current series, Ashes hero Jonathan Trott could be recalled.
