Young Gunners put six past Blades

Arsenal's youngsters ran riot against Sheffield United as they romped to a 6-0 victory in their Carling Cup third-round tie at Emirates Stadium.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger had named a side with an average age of just 19 - and was not disappointed as a goal from 16-year-old Jack Wilshere added to a hat-trick from Carlos Vela and a double by Nicklas Bendtner to outclass the Coca-Cola Championship side.

The Blades had spells of possession, but did not show enough endeavour in the final third.
