Young Gunners thrill Wenger

Arsene Wenger has every faith his emerging Arsenal side can do something very special this season after they produced another commanding display to beat Reading 3-1 and move back to the top of the Barclays Premier League.

Mathieu Flamini, with his first goal for nearly a year, and Emmanuel Adebayor - netting the Gunners' 1,000th Premier League strike - set the visitors on their way before Alexander Hleb added a third late on.

"Let's see how far we can go," said the ever-pragmatic Arsenal boss. "At the moment, this team is a pleasure to work with on a daily basis. They have a fantastic attitude every day in training. They are hungry, they want to improve always."

He added: "There is a great bonding in the team and when you have these ingredients plus the talents we have, you can be very hopeful for the future."

Arsenal could have gone ahead inside the opening three minutes when Adebayor struck the base of the post. However, when their goals finally came, they were once again out of the top drawer at the end of some breathtaking quick-fire passing.

"The second goal was great because it was the way we like to play, possession passing and movement," enthused the French coach. "The 1,000th goal was of special quality and overall the best goal of the game."

Adebayor was denied what looked to have been a superb second shortly after he doubled the lead in the 52nd minute, finishing off a blistering counter-attack only to be denied by a somewhat dubious offside flag.

As space opened up during the closing stages, both Emmanuel Eboue and substitute Theo Walcott wasted good chances.

"We were never in danger of dropping points after we went in front and the second goal killed the game off. We could have scored more," said Wenger.

"So it was good that we just played the game like we are used to. They have shown they can cope with the pressure."
