Younus leads Pakistan fightback

A determined century from Younus Khan helped Pakistan battle back against Sri Lanka on the third day of the first Test in Karachi.

Younus, in his first Test since being installed as captain last month, hit an unbeaten 101 and put on 135 runs in an unbroken stand for the third wicket with Shoaib Malik as Pakistan inched towards safety.

The hosts had reached 213 for two at tea, still 431 runs adrift of Sri Lanka's first-innings score of 644. Malik was four runs short of a half-century at the interval.
