TUI Travel says squeeze no bar to hols

Household finances may be stretched, but that is no reason to put off the family holiday.
First Choice and Thomson owner TUI Travel today reported strong demand for summer holidays despite the spending slowdown.
Chief executive Peter Long said: "There is a different pattern in terms of what happens on the High Street and the importance of the holiday. People very reluctantly surrender holidays and we are seeing no signs of that."
Long said sales of summer holidays in the past six weeks are 9% ahead of last year. TUI cut first-half losses from £321 million to £250 million.

I think with British Airways in the doldrums with that Willie Walsh guy and its low service levels, then these other airlines will profit hugely.
