Economy worries hit the pound again

03.06.08

The pound fell against the dollar again today amid rising concern about the state of the UK economy.

Sterling was down 0.34 cents at $1.9626, having yesterday plunged to a two week low of $1.9597 before clawing back some of its losses.

The sell-off was sparked by the crisis at buy-to-let lender Bradford & Bingley and the slowdown in the wider property market.
