BA ex bosses face charges on price fixing
Evening Standard 7 Aug 2008Four current and former executives at British airways could face jail after it emerged the Office of Four Trading is set to bring criminal charges accusing them of price-fixing.
The charges are the first in a cartel probe to target executives at such a high-profile company and could lead to sentences of up to five years.
Former commercial director Martin George, head of sales Andrew Crawley, ex-head of UK sales Alan Burnett and former communications director Iain Burns are to be charged with colluding with Virgin Atlantic to fix the price of so-called fuel surcharges in air fares.
