Germans have an eye on Gatwick

27.08.08

German building giant Hochtief is interested in buying Gatwick Airport. The competition commission last last week that BAA must sell two of its London airports, triggering the interest from Hochtief. A final decision over the airports' future will be taken in April. Essen-based Hochtief said it continued to have a "great interest" in Gatwick, the UK's second-largest airport.

However, a company spokeswoman said it was unclear at present when and under what conditions the company "would get involved". She added that Hochtief would also be interested in other BAA airports, should they become available.
