Jobs slashes the price of iPods

Apple chief executive Steve Jobs has slashed the US price of the touchscreen iPod by 23%, as he tries to keep sales buoyant in a slowing market.
He also unveiled a slimmer version of the iPod Touch digital player in a bid to attract buyers over the crucial Christmas sales period.
The 8-gigabyte iPod Touch version will sell for $229 (£131), compared with $299 before.
Most attention, however, was focused on Jobs' health.
Rumours have been circulating for months about a mystery illness after pictures showing the Apple founder had lost weight.
He said that he is healthy even though he "could stand to gain 10 to 15 pounds".
Jobs had successful surgery to treat pancreatic cancer in 2004.
The iPod accounted for 22% of Apple's sales last quarter, compared with about 42% during the 2007 Christmas season.
