09.12.08

Maker Nintendo today said demand for the game, which has outsold the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 almost every month since its release in November 2006, was higher than the company had expected, despite the credit crunch.

Sales last week - the first crucial period in the US shopping calendar - had been particularly strong, said Nintendo president Satoro Iwata. "I see no negative signs so far," he said.
