Llods TSB has to take the bicuit as the worst performing Bank. I rarely recieved a response to correspondance, when I do it's to tell me that I will get an answer in 4 weeks. They charge outlandish fees (currently under investigation), the call centre sometimes has English speaking people. If I thought the other banks would be better I would have move my account ages ago.

I have now banked with The Coop for over 32 years and have always found them to be up front - they don't invest in unethical products and have not been caught with their trousers down in recent months-Although they pay minimum interest its great to know your money is safe because as a user you are a joint owner (well thats how it feels when you get a divi for having a bank account or spending money within their stores)

There's a website you can join which is a sort of mutualised loans club: you're never committed to one borrower's entire risk, and the interest rates are reasonable. There's probably a big future in cutting out the 'middleman' of the huge bank overheads, bonuses and extravagances in this way.Borrowers would have to convince a sort of jury of small lenders that their purpose was reasonable, and their security good. This would cut out the distorting targets set to bank managers, and the propensity of all 'experts' to succumb to crazes.
What I hear of Islamic banking seems to have a built-in stability and commonsense about it too. They have an increasing presence on the high street.

What is there to say but all banks are useless greedy institutions. We would be better off dealing with the Mafia.
