Oil explorer Soco rakes in the cash

Soco International is avoiding the insolvency fears spreading through the exploration sector by reporting cash balances of $303 million (£219 million) after record profits of $411 million that include the sale of its Yemen operation.
Production in Vietnam and Thailand brought underlying 2008 profits of $54 million.
