Portmerion hit by cracks in US sales
13 Mar 2009Portmeirion, the potter known for its Botanic Garden range, today reported a 75% slump in profits because of higher fuel and warehouse costs and a 17% fall in sales in the US, its biggest market.
Profits for 2008 fell to £1.1 million from £4.4 million.
Sales in January and February grew 6%.
