Emerald Energy's earnings rise sixfold

Oil and gas explorer Emerald Energy's profits leaped sixfold last year as revenues almost doubled despite the oil price's sharp decline since July.

Yet its shares fell 16½p to 391½p as the company warned of uncertainty from the slowing global economy.

Production in Colombia and Syria is expected to rise.
