Jobs toll at L&G grows by 560

There were yet more job cuts in the insurance industry today when Legal & General said it would axe another 560 positions, mostly in call centres.

That comes on top of 450 job losses the company announced in February. Unite national officer Rob MacGregor said: “The decision is extremely disturbing in any circumstance. This distress will be compounded within the current economic climate.” Aviva cut 1690 jobs last month.
