Sterling wobbles on Brown’s bungles
8 Jun 2009The pound was on the slide again today as renewed doubts over Gordon Brown's leadership spooked the City.
Sterling was down 1.4 cents against the US dollar to $1.5870, having hit $1.6654 last Wednesday. Traders said a Brown exit would eventually be good for the pound — but warned of further volatility in the meantime.
