Sterling wobbles on Brown’s bungles

The pound was on the slide again today as renewed doubts over Gordon Brown's leadership spooked the City.

Sterling was down 1.4 cents against the US dollar to $1.5870, having hit $1.6654 last Wednesday. Traders said a Brown exit would eventually be good for the pound — but warned of further volatility in the meantime.
